Yamaha CP73 stage piano

Yamaha’s CP73 stage piano may have the same sounds, effects and possibilities as the larger CP88 but its keyboard is dramtically different. Yamaha has developed a new Balanced Action keyboard especially for the CP73 and as such, its 73 keys play like an electric piano. Unusually, its notes also begin and end on E, making it ideal for playing along with instruments like guitar and bass. The CP73 has a robust aluminium housing and weighs just 13.1 kg.

High-quality sounds
There 57 sounds onboard, divided into 3 sections. Each section has its own controls, allowing you to scroll quickly through all of the available instruments. Yamaha has already announced that expansion packs will be made available. The piano section has 10 sounds (including 3 grand pianos) and controls for adjusting split points, octaves and damper resonance as well as the volume and depth of each sound. There are 14 electric pianos and the controls for this section give youdrive, tremolo, pan, wah, and phaser, chorus and flanger controls. The sub voice section has 33 sounds and includes organs, strings and synths, Here, there are also controls for adjusting different effects. Another section gives you control over delay and reverb and there’s a masterEQ section with low, mid and high controls. As if all of that isn’t quite enough, you get two joysticks to intuitively control pitch bend and modulation.

Ready for professional use
The CP73 has balanced XLR outputs as well as standard line outputs on the back. There are also line inputs that can be used to connect external audio equipment for mixing audio with the onboard sound and jack sockets to add up to two pedals and two footswitches with assignable functionality that can be saved as presets.
