The Marshall JCM800 2203 Amplifier Head returns! This classic ’80s tube head is still lovingly played by many famous guitarists and Marshall-maniacs. This popular Master Volume edition packs a muscular 100 Watts of guitar power, in part thanks to the four EL34 tubes. In the preamp section, you’ll find three ECC83’s, one of which serves as a phase splitter. Though most JCM head users are known to rock out and sling thunderous metal riffs, the JCM800 2203 definitely doesn’t just cater to these two genres since this Lead Series top is equally suitable for blues and indie styles.

While the front panel of this Marshall tube amp looks pretty straightforward at first glance, the upgrade it’s been given is sure to surprise you in terms of possibilities. Next to the remarkably mighty 3-band EQ, you’re given presence, master and pre-amp potmeters and, depending on the output of the pickups on your guitar, you can choose between a high or low sensitivity input. Another great addition to the 2203 guitar amp head is the serial mono effects loop with True Bypass, which lets you add post-preamp effects. You can now also toggle the output select depending on whether you’re using a 4, 8 or 16-Ohm speaker cab, as well as the mains select to set in the appropriate voltage (110V, 220V or 230V).
