Yamaha CPX1200 VS electro-acoustic western guitar sunburst

Original price was: €1,780.Current price is: €890.

The Yamaha CPX1200VS is the top model from the CPX electro-acoustic guitar series. When you hold this guitar, you know right away that you’ve got quality in your hands. It’s beautifully finished with mother-of-pearl and padauk decorations and is equipped with a neat vintage sunburst lacquer. The CPX1200 is equipped with Yamaha’s best electronics, and thanks to its full solid body, it produces a fantastic acoustic sound. If you’re talking about electro-acoustic guitars, Yamaha has been a favourite of professional guitarists for years for the studio and on-stage.

CPX1200: outstanding acoustic sound thanks to full solid-wood construction
The top, sides and back of the CPX1200 are all fashioned from solid wood, meaning that every part of the guitar with the same thickness is actually made of one piece. Compared with laminated wood, this creates a much better sound because the body gets optimal resonance, which in turn yields more volume and sustain. Your notes will ring out longer and have a lively, full and open tone. The top of the CPX1200 is made of spruce, and the sides and back are made of rosewood–a combination that delivers a warm yet clear sound with full mids.

Exclusive SRT modelling technology
The CPX1200VS is equipped with Yamaha’s advanced modelling preamplifier with Studio Response Technology, or, SRT. Traditionally, electro-acoustic guitars are amplified only with the help of a built-in pickup, but this features the additional SRT which amplifies the guitar as if there is a microphone in front of it, like in the studio. The acoustic resonance, dynamics and ambiance of the guitar are optimally reproduced thanks to the life-like microphone simulations.

System62 preamplifier with comprehensive tone control
With the System62 preamplifier of the Yamaha CPX1200, you can choose from three high-quality microphone types: the Neumann U67, Neumann KM56k and the Royer R-122. Then you choose whether you want the microphone to sound as if it’s positioned close by or far away with the Focus/Wide button. The blend knob is used to mix the sound from the built-in piëzo pickup with the microphone simulation, and the natural acoustic sound of the guitar can be highlighted with the resonance knob. Feedback can also be avoided thanks to the Auto Feedback Reduction, or AFR function. Of course you also have volume control and a 3-band equalizer at your disposal. With all of this, there’s still room for a digital tuner with clear LEDs that are visible on the darkest of stages.
