Since it was launched in 1966, the Neumann U87 condenser microphone has slowly but surely become one of the most popular studio mics of all time. It offers an unsurpassed characteristic sound with a subtle boost in the high-mid frequency, which comes in handy during the mixing phase. The most recent version of this legendary microphone is the U87 Ai, which has a higher output and an even better signal-to-noise ratio than the original, while still maintaining that unmistakable Neumann sound. This studio set comes complete with a shock mount and a wooden storage case.

Features of the U87 Ai
Using the switch on the front, you can choose between three different directional characteristics, namely: cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8. For loud audio sources such as electric guitar amplifiers and drums, the U87 Ai features a -10 dB attenuator to ensure your recordings are free of distortion and clipping. Finally, you can prevent proximity effect and other unwanted noise in the low frequencies with the built-in high-pass filter.
