While the HEDD Type 20 and Type 30 studio monitors are already amazingly all-encompassing in terms of range, if you really want to get to the bottom of things, all you need is an HEDD subwoofer like the Bass 08. Equipped with an 8″ woofer, this active studio sub dives as deep as 24Hz and borders on what human ears are able to distinguish with regard to pitch. Here, the integrated Lineariser – which is also built into the Type MK2 Series monitors – actively counters phase issues by making sure any air is displaced with extreme accuracy. If you’ve already got something like the smaller HEDD Type 05, adding the Bass 08 immediately turns your set-up into a full-range system, however, keep in mind that this is a sub that’s mainly designed for larger studio spaces that have been properly treated in terms of acoustics.
