The API Select T25 is a two-channel valve compressor loaded with a FET gain circuit to inject a little more life and energy into the sound. To dial in the specifics, you’re getting D-S and Thrust side-chain filters plus adjustable standard parameters like attack, release and ratio. D-S serves as a kind of de-esser; when activated, the compressor becomes a lot more sensitive to higher frequencies. The Thrust function has been carried over from API’s 2500+ bus compressor. It’s basically an elegant high-pass filter that’s part of the detection circuit that ensures the compressor doesn’t as get spooked by lower freqs. The result? An incomparable amount of sonic punch.
