Sequential Prophet X Hybrid Synthesizer

Dave Smith’s Sequential Prophet X is capable of adding analogue filters to samples. Two 16-bit, 48 kHz sample-based instruments can be used at once and each has 16 mono or 8 stereo voices. The Prophet X combines 150 GB of superior quality samples stright from the ‘deep sample’ pioneers, 8Dio along with all of the renowned potential and aptitude of Dave Smith Instruments. The Prophet X an expansive synth that offers plenty of acoustic and electronic instrument samples as well as a superb selection of ambient and cinematic effects.

The Prophet X: Up to 200 GB of Tweakable Samples
In addition to the 150 GB of samples loaded into this bi-timbral sample/synthesis hybrid, there’s 50 GB of free space for adding external samples to your sound palette. Extra sample packages are available via 8Dio along with a guide for making your own samples. Sounds on the Sequential Prophet X can be comprehensively shaped by stretching, loop manipulation and sound sculpting.

Endless Potential
Two high resolution digital oscillators allow you to add the Prophet’s legendary waveforms to sounds. That means you can put a sawtooth or sine wave front and centre using the Shape Mod and change the timbre using the LFO, for instance. When it comes to synthesis, all of the familiar options can be applied. In stereo mode, you can make use the newly-designed low pass filters (24 dB per octave). Adventurous synth players and composers will both appreciate the virtually endless possibilities offered by the Sequential Prophet X.

Power
The polyphonic step sequencer gives you 64 steps with 6 notes per step and in split or stacked mode, a different sequence for each layer can be created. These sequences, as well as the arpeggiator, can be synced to an external MIDI clock. You can also add up to two effects per layer and modulate them using the mod matrix. The available effects include reverb, delay, chorus, phase shifter, flanger, vintage rotating speaker, high-pass filter, and distortion. As you can tell, the Dave Smith Sequential Prophet X is an extremely powerful, far-reaching and detailed instrument.
