D&R Airlite-USB 8-Channel Radio On-Air Mixer

The D&R Airlite-USB is a professional, 8-channel, radio on-air mixer. It’s ideal for your master station or for starting your own internet radio station at home. It even has VoIP functionality among its range of possibilities. The mixer can handle line, microphone and USB stereo signals and the control section features 16 assignable, illuminated switches that can be used to activate jingles, for example. There’s also a stereo aux send and return, control room monitor (CRM) and announcer master controls. The CRM is automatically silenced whenever the DJ mic is active, of course. Plug a dedicated VoIP USB cable into the mixer via your PC and you can easily make a connection to a program like Skype. In short, the Airlite-USB is a serious piece of hardware designed for radio.

Being able to make accurate digital adjustments to the Airlite-USB’s eight modules make it a radio technician’s dream. Via the included software, where each module has its own page, you can program cue resets by line, mic, fader and so on and even program switch colours as well as controlling things like phantom power settings. Channels 1, 2 and 3 are mic/line input channels that each have their own 3-band EQ, aux, cue and on controls. The cue knob can also be used for telephone conversations while music is playing. Channels 4 to 7 are line/USB channels where stereo sources can be connected from a play-out system or a CD player via the line input, for example.
