Tama’s Superstar Hyper-Drive Duo is a special kit with a unique concept and as soon as you play it, you’ll know why. The 14 x 10-inch Duo Snare drum that is shown in the images where the first tom would normally be placed is mainly responsible for this. Please note that this 5-piece shell set does not include stands, cymbals or a standard snare drum. The shells all have a stunning Satin Blue finish.

The Duo Snare drum that stands on a floor tom holder can be used as a floor tom or a side snare. You can position it like a traditional floor tom or to the left of your hi-hat if you plan on using it as a side snare. Having this option gives you plenty of possibilities for adding inspirational fills, grooves and solos to your playing. In short, you’re likely to look at your drum kit in a completely different way!

Configuration
This set essentially has a 2-up-2-down configuration with two rack toms and two floor toms. The rack toms can be mounted to cymbal stands using the included MC69 single tom holders so that they have no contact with the bass drum for improved resonance. The shell set consists of a 22 x 16-inch bass drum, 10 x 6.5-inch and 12 x 7-inch hyper-drive toms, a 16 x 14-inch floor tom and a 14 x 10-inch Duo Snare drum. The shells are all made of maple and equipped with black chrome-plated hardware. They all feature a vertical stripe too that gives them a vintage look.
