Yamaha Genos 76-note workstation keyboard

Yamaha’s Genos sets a new benchmark for digital workstations. This 76-note workstation keyboard is the follow-up to the Tyros 5. Among its impressive list of features are no fewer than 1652 voices, 58 Drum/SFX kits, 500 styles and 216 arpeggios. All of the sounds are breathtaking, including the CFX concert grand piano, the Kino strings and the new Revo!Drums. Yamaha’s AEM (Articulation Element Modeling) technology ensures that each instrument sounds exactly how it should, even taking into account how you play. Add comprehensive effects (including harmonies for vocalists) and intuitive operation and it’s clear to see that you can do almost anything with the Yamaha Genos.

DSP Processor: studio quality
The Genos hosts the same VCM technology that is found on Yamaha’s high-end mixers giving you top-quality effects including Reverb, Chorus, Distortion, Rotary Speaker and Compressor. You won’t just be able to hear the effects however, you’ll be able to see them and adjust them too on the stunning graphical user interface. The Genos even has on-board effects for vocalists with a harmony section and a synth vocoder. If you want to record your performances, you can do so easily using the Quick Recording feature but for more complex arrangements, the Genos also boasts a fully functional 16-track MIDI sequencer. Once you’re happy with your recording, you can save it to the internal drive or export it. When it comes to connectors, you’ll find plenty on the Genos with outputs including MIDI, USB, S/PDIF and jack.

Your very own band
The Genos has a comprehensive styles section with no fewer than 550 different styles complete with rhythms and accompaniments. You’ll find everything from the most basic to the most complex styles to accompany you as you play. Adding fills, melodies and loops is easy using the assignable multi-pads. In addition, there are 9 sliders, 6 control knobs and a pitch and modulation joystick giving you full control over every detail.
