Pearl EM-53HB e/MERGE e/HYBRID electronic drum kit

In order to develop the e/MERGE electronic drum kit, Pearl used technology by renowned synth brand Korg. This technology in Wave Drums can be found in this kit’s PUREtouch pads. These unique pads are built up of six layers and extremely sensitive due to the Wave Triggers. No matter where you hit it, the adjustable drumhead tension will have an impact on the sound. This makes it very similar to an acoustic kit. This e/Hybrid configuration includes 10, 12 and 14-inch tom pads and a 14-inch snare drum pad. It also features an 18-inch acoustic bass drum with built-in trigger pad. What’s more, it comes with a 3-piece cymbal set consisting of a 14-inch hi-hat, a 15-inch crash and an 18-inch ride. Lastly, this hybrid kit comes with an Icon e-rack.

Intuitive MDL-1 module
At the heart of an electronic drum kit is the module, in this case, the MDL-1. This unit contains 700 sounds that go from vintage to modern drum samples. Some are recorded by famous drummers, others are geared toward a specific genre or even an iconic song. The samples were recorded in well-known studios in Nashville with a broad frequency range for optimal audio quality. There are also 35 effects and a recording function for up to twelve hours of music. Naturally, there are various connection options available including an aux input, eight line outputs, a Master output, a headphone output, USB port and MIDI output.

Unique cymbal pads
The Wave Trigger technology is also used in this kit’s cymbal pads. They are also made up of multiple layers with a rubber top layer for an authentic playing feel and good volume dispersion. Just like the drum , the cymbal pads come in sizes that correspond with acoustic cymbals. The set includes an 18-inch triple zone ride, a double zone crash and a 14-inch double zone hi-hat. The hi-hat is also equipped with a movement sensor for clear articulation and a ventilated bottom cymbal for extra stability. This hi-hat is designed to fit on a regular hi-hat stand.
