This MJ Series Dinky model is more than just a flash-back to the early ’90s – the time when all imported Jackson guitars were being made exclusively in Japan. In fact, this fresh and exciting re-issue has also been crafted there, with a focus on excellent playability, first-rate parts and a fair price. To please bone-fide shredders, the ergonomically-shaped alder body features a cut heel for eased access to the highest frets, while the stable 5-piece neck made of maple and walnut has not only been bolted on but reinforced with graphite being before treated to an oil finish.

For a fast feel and an easy time playing high-speed solos higher up the neck, the ebony fretboard of the Dinky DKR has a compound radius running from 12 to 16 inches and comes finished with 24 jumbo frets with rounded edges. Next to a sharkfin inlay at the 12th fret, Jackson have also conveniently adorned the fretboard with Luminlay side-dots so you can find your way across in the dark while, for quick and effective neck adjustments, there’s a heel-mounted truss rod wheel. Meanwhile, the tried-and-true, high-output pickup combination of a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100 at the bridge and a DiMarzio PAF Pro DP151 at the neck deliver the fiery tone needed to play any kind of metal.

To set you up with optimal tuning stability, Jackson have teamed the classic Gotoh GE1996T bridge up with an R3 locking nut and a set of sealed, self-lubricating Gotoh tuners. This way, this MJ Series Dinky stays in tune no matter how wild things get. Furthermore, you’ll find two Dunlop-made dual-locking strap buttons that are specifically designed to take away any fear of the guitar breaking free from a compatible strap while you’re playing, and this DKR model comes finished with a reverse, ‘matched’ Jackson-style headstock.
