Description
The Behringer Wing is an extensive 48 channel mixer complete with a stack of analogue and digital ports. While this audio workhorse comes with endless potential, Behringer knows how to keep things simple.
The Behringer Wing in Full Flight
More than 100 audio sources can be connected to the Wing and each of the eight analogue inputs is supported by Midas preamps. The Wing is also fully compatible with the digital snakes we’ve been using in combination with the X32 mixer for years. Alongside the Wing, Behringer have introduced the StageCONNECT protocol which accommodates 32 channels via one standard XLR cable: ideal for monitoring. Also, by adding an expansion card to this mixer (sold separately), it can be expanded for integration with other digital protocols like DANTE, ADAT and MADI.
Swift Mixing
The Behringer Wing has a modular setup so that every input can be freely allocated to one of the 48 channels. The faders have an incredibly logical layout where the first twelve can be seen as channel faders, the subsequent eight as sub-groups and the final four can be used as the output section. But, since this is a modular setup, there’s nothing to stop you from completely ignoring this layout. Also, and besides the Standard FX Rack that comes loaded in, the Wing also boasts top-shelf effects from no other than TC Electronic and Lexicon.
