Sandberg California VM4 (Soft Aged )

Original price was: €1,855.Current price is: €1,295.

Sandberg offer high quality, hand-made bass guitars that can be customised to a large degree, just like this ‘soft aged’, orange California VM edition with matching headstock. Artificial ageing is one of the Germans’ specialities, as this bass guitar has personally discovered. It’s a brand new model but comes with several slight cuts and bruises for a unique, well-worn look and feel. This version’s neck is made from Canadian maple and has been bolted to the body with six screws for better tone reliability. The fretboard is made from rosewood and features pearloid block inlays.

Sandberg California VM4: The Best Materials
While the Sandberg California series’ models have been slightly touched up and given a little more personality, the wood used for the body is of supreme quality. Sandberg offer a choice of European ash, American swamp ash, alder, mahogany and other high-grade wood types. Mounted on the body is a Sandberg split-coil in the middle and a Powerhumbucker at the bridge to delivers a clear punch. The 2-band EQ features several filters and a high/low boost that can be bypassed by popping out the volume switch.

Zero Fret and Adjustable Bridge Saddles
Sandberg have provided the California TM4 with some striking and incredibly precise features. The zero fret sitting just after the nut means you get the same tone when you play with open as well as fretted strings. The four saddles can be adjusted in three different directions for incredibly precise intonation while the resistance of the machine heads can also be adjusted to give you optimal string nut tension of the A, D and G strings.

Tips or comments about this product
Please note: The ‘soft ageing’ process is done manually, so the finish of these instruments may differ from guitar to guitar.
Please note: as of 15th March 2015, the California TM series features a redesigned body that differs from the standard J-Bass model.
