Marshall 1974X Handwired 1×12 combo

The 18-watt Marshall 1974 is a reissue of the widely acclaimed double-channel tube amplifier that Marshall produced between 1966 and 1968. Just like the original, all of the components are hand soldered and the amplifier has an aluminium housing and tube-driven tremolo circuit. The two-channel design is both effective and efficient. On channel one there are controls for volume and tone, while the tremolo channel has controls for volume, tone, speed and sensitivity.

Overdrive
The Marshall 1974X’s lower wattage means that overdrive happens sooner than it would with a higher watt amplifier. This gives it a harmonic, rich, delicate vintage Marshall sound even at lower volumes which works well in the studio and gives you more control when playing live. Despite the lower wattage, the Marshall still produces a powerful sound with plenty of punch.

Vintage speaker
The T1221/67 Greenback speaker used in the original 1974 combo amplifier produced less intense sounds as it aged. The special 12-inch Celestion G12M-20 Greenback in the Marshall 1974X are specially ‘aged’ to recreate the sound of the original, aged, vintage speakers as much as possible. A classic, vintage sound in a new amplifier.
