Fender’s American Ultra Series is the immediate successor to the Elite Series, and it probably goes without saying that, besides the Custom Shop models, these are the best quality electric guitars that Fender have to offer. In the case of this Ultra Series Stratocaster, Fender have paid extra attention to optimising playing comfort, so the body boasts deep contours and a rounded heel for quick and easy access to every last one of the 22 stainless-steel medium jumbo frets, and the modern D-profile neck ensures a natural feel in the palm of the fret hand. This is the left-handed edition.

The Ultra Stratocaster: Ultimate possibilities
With three, passive Ultra Noiseless single-coils, it’s clear that Fender have aimed the American Ultra Strat at contemporary guitarists. These pickups guarantee noiseless cleans as well as imposing overdrive and distortion, while an added S-1 switch can be triggered to summon even more tonal variation. Another cheeky detail is the compound fretboard radius, which starts at 10-inches at the headstock and gradually increases to 14-inches at the body, setting up both rhythm and lead guitarists with plenty of playing comfort.
