Mounted with two passive Hyperion Alnico-5 pickups, the AZ2202A meets the demands of today’s professional players in every possible way and can give you both a clean of overdriven sound with delicious brightness of tone while retaining every bit of character this premium guitar packs. Using the Alter-Switch and 5-way pickup switch, the humbuckers can be told to deliver one of ten different foundation sounds while the dyna-MIX10 preamp system effortlessly transitions between sparkling single-coil shimmer and fattened up humbucker tone.

The fretboard and neck of all Prestige Series guitars are given the S-Tech Roasted Treatment to bless them with a number of unique qualities. The carbon used in the process increases the structural stability and the resistance against harmful fluctuations in temperature and humidity while optimising the sustain and tonal balance. For the light and smooth playability, Ibanez have oiled the comfortable Oval C neck and rounded the edges of the fretboard, making it obvious that the experts and specialists involved in building the AZ2202A clearly knew what was needed to craft a superbly complete guitar.
